Now that we know where you are on the spiritual pathway, do you want to move toward God? Faith is personal and dependent on a person wanting to grow and become closer to God. We can’t make you grow. You need to want to move. So, do you want to move?

Yes – If you are ready to move, then we want you to take the next step. The spiritual next steps are practical steps a person can do to begin growing and moving on the spiritual pathway. Keep reading below to find your next step.

No – If you do not want to move in your faith right now, that is okay. You are loved and welcome at Freshwater! When you are ready, let us know and we’ll help you move forward.

How do you move? Take the Next Step.

NEXT STEPS are actions you can take from wherever you have self-identified. Within the NEXT STEPS, there are 4 Key areas a person can look at to begin taking next steps of faith and continuing to grow.

Pick a step in one of the key areas below. Once you have mastered that step, pick another one. After you have taken several steps, you will find yourself moving forward in your faith and transitioning into the next segment of the Spiritual Pathway, “Growing in Christ.”

Next Step: Learn more about God and His son Jesus Christ. You can do this by attending Freshwater Church weekly online or in-person. You also learn about God by reading the Bible. The  Bible is God’s book for us about Himself and Jesus. We recommend starting to read in the Gospel of John, or you can download the Freshwater mobile app (Apple) (Google) and follow along in our bible reading plan there.

Next Step: Accept Jesus as your Savior.

Next Step: Attend church in person or online. There is something about being together that helps us feel connected. That is why we recommend attending church in person every week.

Next Step: Start serving others. Freshwater has a ministry (area to serve) that is right for you. Use the Connection Card to let us know you want to serve and a staff member will contact you to help you.

Next Step: Become a Member. As one of your first steps of growth as a new Christian, consider attending our next membership class which will teach you more about God’s Word and how Freshwater can help you grow. After you attend the class you have the option to join the church which is all about being part of the Freshwater family.

Next Step: Read your Bible every day to know Christ better. Start reading the Gospel of John. Look in the Bible’s table of contents to find it. Read at least one chapter a day.

Next Step: Talk to God in prayer every day. Prayer doesn’t need to be complicated. Just talk to God. In prayer, we praise God for how great He is. We confess our sins and struggles to Him. We thank Him for how He has blessed us and been at work in our lives. And through prayer, we ask God for help in our struggles and tough circumstances. The Bible teaches that God is our Father, and as our Father, He wants us to come to Him with our hurts, pains, and fears.

Next Step: Help others. As Christ’s representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.

Next Step: Tell others about Christ. Your life changed when you heard about Jesus and put your faith in Him. Now tell others, so they can experience that same life change!
